Period Panties
are an Innovative
Option for
"That Time of the Month"

Absorbent underwear is changing the underwear
game, especially for younger women.
These nifty undergarments virtually eliminate the need for
wearing a bulky, uncomfortable maxi pad and, in many cases,
are designed to absorb the same amount of liquid as two to
昀椀ve tampons.
There are two versions available -- reusable and disposable.
The reusable period panty works by layering multiple layers
of cotton or nylon in the gusset to soak up menstrual 昀氀ow and
wick it away from sensitive, intimate parts. Odor could be an
issue, so some brands add an antimicrobial element.
Besides convenience, period panties have soared in popularity
because the multi-wear varieties keep plastics out of land昀椀lls.
Conventional menstruation products can be up to 90% plastic,
and about 49 billion of these single-use items are used (and
tossed) each year in the U.S. alone, according to the United
Nations Environment Programme’s Life Cycle Initiative. In
addition, they ’re a cost-effective option, considering the
average woman spends about $120 on period products each
year. There is no pink tax on underwear.
Taking a page from women’s post-partum panties, disposable
panties o昀昀er women a more straightforward solution than
always having pads, tampons and the like.
