If an individual doesn’t qualify for FEP and is exhibiting signs of early
bipolar disorder, the staff at Mojave Counseling can refer patients
to UNLV’s Performance Optimization for Wellness, Empowerment
& Resilience (POWER) Program by UNLV PRACTICE. POWER is
a coordinated specialty care program that provides support and
encouragement to individuals with early bipolar symptoms by
assisting them, as well as family members, to optimize functioning
across relationships, health, education, employment, and other
important aspects of life.
The clinical director of POWER, Emily Burden, MSW, LCSW, says
their program is run on the same evidence-based model of care that
was speci昀cally designed for FEP.
