Finishes at Coventry Cathedral
Viero UK supply and install specialist Italian lime and synthetic paints and plasters that are as

We had two components to our brief. The first was to
research and replicate a heavy textured finish used
throughout the Cathedral when it was constructed. The
alterations created areas that required a matching texture
but the original had an asbestos content that required
abatement before reinstalling with a contemporary
variant to match. Viero UK researched, shop tested and
installed a finish to match the texture and the original
colour.
The second component to our brief was to design a
specialist decorative plaster to the walls and pockets
comprising of the new home for the Swedish Windows,
stunning stained glass windows gifted by the people of
Sweden and made by the artist Einar Forseth. The design
intent was to create a lightly polished lime based texture
that would gently reflect the rich colours of the windows
achieving a soft ethereal aesthetic.
Viero’s Vixalit Lime Paint proved to be the perfect
medium to achieve the desired outcome.
