(will it shrink or stretch when heat is applied), reinforced seams and stress points as

Different portions of the hide offer different characteristics. The side offers the best strength and
pliability, the shoulder offers good strength, and the
belly is the most economical.
Leather is tanned and separated into a grain layer and
a split layer. The grain layer has a smooth shiny side
and a rough suede side. The split layer is rough suede
on both sides.
