RECIPROCITY PROJECT
PASIFIKA STORYTELLING
Reciprocity Project seeks to embrace
the value of reciprocity through
Indigenous perspectives via storytelling, film, podcasts, and other
creative mediums. This initiative is a
co-production between Nia Tero and
Upstander Project in association with
REI Co-Op Studios. Season One
wrapped post-production in the fall
of 2021. All seven films have been
selected to a dozen film festivals in
early 2022, including the short, ᎤᏕᏲᏅ
(What They’ve Been Taught), at
Sundance Film Festival.
Vaka Pasifika is a Nia Tero
Storytelling initiative, aimed at
supporting the ongoing movement
of people and communities who are
working towards a society rooted in
the concept of human reciprocity
with all beings and a living planet. To
support the growth and flourishing
of this network, the Pasifika
Storytelling team successfully
created and hosted virtual spaces
for gathering and discussion
throughout 2021.
