Greetings Gaylor Nation!
Five months into 2024 and I sense a real positive rhythm has developed across the
company. With such varied locations in size and long suits, I am always checking for
the direction each location is moving. It is not a competition between locations, it is
always a collaboration amongst them that I look for. There is so much to be proud of
for how our company has embraced working together to make the company the best
it can be.
This Q2 edition will highlight a few of the areas that we feel were impactful on the
company. One of the sections covers the ribbon cutting for our new National
Corporate Headquarters in Fishers, Indiana. This location meets today9s needs as well
as prepares us for the continual growth we expect. It is visually beautiful and provides
a working environment our excellent corporate staff can be proud of.
The National Associated Builders and Contractors convention was again a high point
for the industry. For me, I always look forward to the craft competition and seeing the
8next generation9 of journeypersons compete against a timeclock and under the eyes
of the competition judges. The industry is in good hands based on the quality of the
apprentices who competed.
The National Construction Safety Week provided an impactful week for the company.
Our Safety Department did an expected superior job in providing insightful
information, toolbox talks, and safety specific classes during the week. Our Marketing
Department provided great videos and messaging that kept everyone engaged and
looking forward to the next day. Though it was a national event, our folks Gaylor-ized
the messages to be sure it hit the mark for our craft professionals.
Finally, we are entering Summer College and High School Intern season. Our strategic
plan year-over-year has been to increase the number of interns each year AND
improve their experience. Our locations and remote projects look forward to
welcoming the future of the construction industry and helping to impress upon them
that they are looking at the right choice for a satisfying career!
