Tai Ping
Located on Fulham Road in the centre of the Brompton Design District,
Tai Ping welcomes customers to the newest of its 14 global showrooms.
In an elegant Victorian-era building which o昀케cially opened its doors in
March of this year, more than 60 in-stock rugs are on display featuring
a selection of hand-tufted designs made in Tai Ping’s artisan workshop
located in Xiamen and hand-knotted pieces crafted in Nepal.
The new London showroom is open to discerning individuals looking for
the perfect in-stock rug for their home or o昀케ce as well as design professionals, decorators and architects looking for tailor-made creations on
behalf of their clients. In addition to the stocked carpets on display, the
showroom also has over 1,000 samples to inspire and inform customers
about 昀椀bres, colours and construction techniques.
In London since 1985
Founded in British Hong Kong in 1956, it has been almost 40 years
since Tai Ping opened its 昀椀rst London showroom back in 1985 on
Mayfair’s Savile Row. Since its arrival in the UK, the brand has 昀椀rmly
established its reputation for excellence in product quality, craftsmanship, design and customer service. The move to Fulham Road places the
showroom in the centre of London’s premier furniture district, contributing to the area’s appeal as a one-stop destination for home décor and
high-end furnishings.
Bespoke and in-stock designs
While Tai Ping is best known for bespoke design services for trade
professionals, the Fulham Road showroom o昀昀ers customers the opportunity to buy a curated selection of in-stock rugs in both hand-knotted
and hand-tufted designs. Tai Ping’s hand-knot collections are crafted by
artisans in Nepal using techniques that have been mastered and re昀椀ned
over generations so that each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation. There
are approximately 30 hand-knot rugs available for quick delivery from
the Tai Ping showroom.
Prêt-à-porter rugs
Studio by Tai Ping is the brand’s new prêt-à-porter label, crafted with a
carefully considered colour palette and yarn combination to make them
versatile and accessible. The rugs are available from stock or madeto-order in a range of sizes and colourways. The initial UK o昀昀ering of
Studio by Tai Ping focuses on interesting textures and graphics, linear
designs, as well as painterly patterns with a more 昀氀uid and organic
aesthetic.
Ethical and eco-responsible carpets
Committed to environmentally friendly manufacturing and socially responsible business practices, Tai Ping encourages customers to
choose carpets responsibly. The brand’s London showroom re昀氀ects this
commitment, presenting rugs made in Tai Ping’s wholly owned artisanal
workshop which operates as a zero-pollutant discharge facility where
100% of water needs are met through recycling and rainwater harvesting. The fully integrated dyeing process results in better quality yarns
and shorter supply times with industry-leading colour management and
colour dye performance. All colourants used in dyeing comply with The
Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes (ETAD) recommendations.
