TOP 5 BEST
VALUE STUDY TRIP
DESTINATIONS FOR 2025
Spokesperson: Petra Albrecht, Head of
Diversity Study Trips (Maternity Cover)
Are you already planning what trips to take your
students on in the 2025/26 academic year?
The opportunity for students across the
country to travel and learn abroad has
narrowed in the last few years as a result
of Brexit and the ongoing cost-of-living
crisis. Cuts to school budgets have resulted
in almost 3,000 (29.7%) fewer trips in 2023
compared to 2019, according to the School
Travel Forum, which has disproportionately
impacted the most disadvantaged schools
in the UK.
As a result, thousands of students are
missing out on both the educational and
personal benefits associated with overseas
educational trips.
Diversity Study Trips has therefore selected
five of the best-value destinations to
consider for your students next year.
The DST team is made up of former teachers
and travel experts who understand the
challenges schools are currently facing and
tailor trip itineraries to each school’s specific
needs and circumstances.
Which of the following trips sound right for
your students?
1.Kraków, Poland (History)
Kraków is a city that is steeped in history
from the winding cobblestone streets of
the Old Town to the haunting remnants
of the Jewish Ghetto. The captivating and
unforgettable experience of this diverse
city will interest historians, architects and
foodies alike.
Students should visit the Kazimierz District
to learn about the city’s rich history, to
experience what was once the centre
of Jewish life in Kraków. The AuschwitzBirkenau Museum is a poignant reminder
of the atrocities of the Holocaust, but an
important place to visit.
4.Marrakech, Morocco
(General Culture)
For those studying food technology,
cooking classes are available to teach
students how to make some of the delicious
traditional dishes.
Diversity Study Trips has tailored their
itinerary in Marrakech to focus on
celebrating the pivotal roles and
contributions of women in Moroccan
society. Encouraging students to engage
first-hand with female leaders, artisans
and activists and lead discussions about
the impact of women on Morocco’s history
and art.
2. Paris, France (Languages)
For language students, Paris is an incredible
study trip that won’t cost too much. With
fascinating museums and iconic landmarks,
the best way to test out their language skills
is to get stuck in, conversing with locals and
receiving a guided tour of the city in French.
The opportunity to explore some of the best
paintings of all time is one that budding
artists won’t want to miss, alongside the
architectural wonders such as Notre-Dame
de Paris.
3.Shanghai, China (Business)
For the first time in years, China is now a
cheaper study trip destination than Japan.
Whether you’re planning a trip to enrich
teaching of business studies, languages,
STEM or general culture, Shanghai is packed
with the essentials for boosting the learning
of the students.
Diversity Study Trips can organise factory
and office tours which will allow for students
to ask questions to successful local business
owners that are contributing to one of the
fastest growing economies in the world.
The Shanghai Astronomy Museum is a
perfect place to reflect on the technological
innovation of recent years, whilst
exploring a rare insight into the mysteries
of the universe.
For geography students there is also the
opportunity to take in the sublime Atlas
Mountains and the contrasting desert
landscapes. A guided tour of Marrakech
will bring it to life and show students the
must-see spots of the city.
This unique expedition promises an
insightful exploration, fostering crosscultural understanding and empowering
perspectives on the remarkable impact of
women in Morocco.
5.Prague, Czech Republic
(History/Architecture)
Prague is a beautiful city with a rich history
and culture. The “City of a Hundred Spires” is
a must-visit for architecture students, with
Prague Castle being the largest coherent
castle complex in the world. The streets
are filled with colourful buildings, gothic
churches and the medieval Astronomical
Clock.
