COUNT ME IN FOR
FEMINIST ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Over 2,000 diverse entrepreneurs empowered
There is huge potential for feminist entrepreneurship to boost
women’s financial futures. But systemic barriers hinder funding,
and there’s a lack of recognition for feminist innovations that
women and gender-diverse people most often activate in their
businesses.
Through the Partnering for Feminist Entrepreneurship project, we
are propelling feminist entrepreneurship forward. It is an awardwinning national initiative to support women and gender-diverse
entrepreneurs, funded by the Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy
at Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada.
In collaboration with seven partner organizations from across
Canada (see P. 29), we provide education, training, mentorship,
and networking opportunities. The project has so far reached
more than 2,000 women and gender-diverse entrepreneurs, with
the majority identifying as Black, Indigenous, or racialized.
“As feminist entrepreneurs
representing a B Corporation,
we value and support women
in our community. We support
principles of equality and
respect for the community and
the environment.”

“A feminist business
owner has the courage
to speak, walk, and
own their own truth.
They invite others to sit beside them at
the table they have built and thrive as
they have.”

“I am passionately committed
to supporting and
collaborating with our local
farmers, especially focusing
on female flower farmers,
suppliers, and Indigenous
entrepreneurs as much
as possible. In an industry
often plagued by waste, I
am dedicated to paving a
better path by championing
their businesses and the
communities they sustain.
By prioritizing local sourcing,
I not only ensure high-quality
products but also contribute
directly to our local economy.
Together, we’re fostering
growth, resilience, and
prosperity for our female
farmers and communities
alike.”
