Dr Ajit Selvendra has been a senior consultant
psychiatrist in the Victorian public hospital system for
many years. He also has an academic appointment and
works in private practice. After training in Melbourne,
he undertook further studies at St. George’s Hospital
in London and has provided specialised training to
mental health workers overseas. Ajit is Chair of the
AMAV Section of Psychiatry, the AMA representative
to the RANZCP State Committee, is involved with the
AMA Federal Mental Health Committee, and oversaw
AMAV’s submission to the Royal Commission into
Victoria’s Mental Health System.
