In addition, a further WLCEA was recently carried out
after completion in 2024, which showed that the total
upfront embodied carbon (A1-A5) was below the typical
GLA benchmark.
Peter Lane, Immediate Past Master of the Mercers’

Dick Whittington, the great Mercer philanthropist,
would be delighted that this special scheme bears his
name”.
The Company also provides high quality accommodation
to over 200 residents in six almshouses, work closely with
its associated schools which educate c.18,000 pupils;
appoint 88 charity trustees and school governors; and
support eight Church of England beneficiaries.
