December 2024
It was always going to be a challenge
merging Croydon9s two leading
Hockey clubs but thanks to everyone9s

successful 昀椀rst half of the season. This
is only the start and together we are

sit 4th just four points o昀昀 the top
spot. With every team in the league
losing at least three games this is
de昀椀nitely one to watch next year.
From the scenes at Lime Meadow

issue either.

The women9s XI have had a very
strong start, currently si琀ng 2nd in
the table 7 points behind the league
leaders. The league is close though,
with only 4 points separa}ng 2nd top

progress to playing in the senior side.

but this isn9t a true re昀氀ec}on of the

The men9s 2s have perhaps been the
main success story of the season so
far. Having lost their 昀椀rst game of the
season away at Aldershot and
Farnham due to 8inac}vity9 over the
long summer break, they remain
unbeaten in all the subsequent games.
Despite this. they sit in second place
but face the league leaders in the 昀椀rst
game back in January.

It has been a tough start for the men9s
4s who are lulling the opposi}on into
a false sense of security with their
current league posi}on. It9s a tough
league, with the 2 XIs of many of the
smaller Croydon clubs 昀椀elding teams.
The main thing is they beat Kenley,
which is all that really ma琀琀ers. With a
few more wins they will jump up the
table and which makes it so important
that we keeping ge琀ng great
availability across all teams every
week.

build on in the new year and they
could easily 昀椀nish in the top four if
they hit the ground running. It is no
surprise that they too have beaten
Kenley.
