COLOURS
We have done our best to display; as accurately as possible, the colours of the products on this website.
However please note that the colours you see on the website may slightly differ from the colours of the
actual product. Colours may vary from device to device.
Why don’t colors look the same across different devices?
It is a common misconception that all electronics should exhibit the same colors, especially with
devices with the same make and model. However, this is often not the case. Have you considered what
is causing the picture to look different?
It is a common misconception that all electronics should exhibit the same colors, especially with
devices with the same make and model. However, this is often not the case. This is illustrated with a
simple experiment: when you put the same image on two monitors side-by-side, you have at least a
95% of chance that the images will not look the same, and you will probably find yourself in a situation
like that shown below. The monitors do not need to be the same make and same model, but for
illustration purposes, we used four identical monitor images.
1.Manufacturing Variability: Each monitor is unique due to production variables and assembly
flaws. Even if you have identical models, their colors may not match perfectly1. These variations can
occur during the manufacturing process, leading to differences in color representation.
2.LCD Screen Differences: Monitors use liquid crystal displays (LCDs) to produce colors. The age,
usage, and quality of these LCD panels can affect color accuracy. Additionally, manufacturers may
source LCD panels from different suppliers, resulting in subtle variations
3.Electron Beam and Phosphors: Color on a monitor is achieved by illuminating phosphors. When an
electron beam scans the monitor’s face, it directs the beam to specific phosphors. These phosphors
emit light in primary color combinations, creating the colors we see on the screen.
4.Calibration Challenges: Achieving consistent color across multiple monitors is challenging. Even if
you buy monitors from the same product line, achieving precise color calibration can be
difficult. Calibration tools or fine-tuning software settings can help align colors, but it’s still a complex
task.
