JCC Spring Community Report 2024 - Flipbook - Page 2
A Letter from our President/CEO
Dear Friends,
What a year this has been. Personally, professionally,
communally, and existentially, the past 12 months
have challenged me and the JCC to lean into what
has made this organization so important for so
many generations. Our core values of Belonging/
B’tselem Elohim, Joyfulness/Simcha, Collaboration/
Kehillah, and Transformation/Sh’ma have guided us
to show up for our community in both time-tested
and novel ways.
This year, supported by the incredible generosity
of our donors, we renovated our lobby and security
infrastructure, grew the number of kids who were
able to attend our camps through scholarship
dollars, and expanded the kinds of programs we’re
able to offer to the multigenerational community we
serve. We know that all of this work enables us to
care for the Jewish people, the Jew-ish people, and
all of our neighbors and allies who are part of our
broader family.
Although we take our service seriously and see it as
a form of sacred responsibility, the JCC is also a site
of serious fun. Our ELCs, camps, afterschool program,
and enrichment classes are filled with boisterous
energy. Our adult programs are places where
individuals develop real and enduring friendships
that extend far beyond the walls of our building, and
our family programs, held in more than 40 towns and
cities all across Greater Boston, plant the seeds of
Jewish joy in our youngest community members. This
simcha is also sacred, and we are so proud to cocreate it with all of you.
