disposal. Weldas® products are tested to CE health standards such as pH, Chromium (VI),
banned materials, and coloring with natural materials.
This guide explains the testing and certification,
particularly how to read the pictograms that
reference the test result.
Testing and certification allows you to compare protective products, enabling you and other safety-minded
professionals to select the appropriate PPE. While our team members can help select the best product available,
it is always the responsibility of the user to determine the right product for the application.
Each shield represents an EN testing standard; the
numbers below each shield show at what the level the
product performed.
EN11611 refers to the requirement for protective
welding clothing designed to protect the user from
applications involving welding, allied processes and
comparable risks. Protection examples include spatter
and molten metal, short contact with open flame,
radiant heat, accidental electrical contact shock during
sweating, and potential hazards of garment openings.
Class 1 is less hazardous, Class 2 is higher levels of
heat and spatter exposure.
The EN12477 is a standard of testing designed
to ensure proper protection of both hand and
wrist while welding or similar allied processes.
This test method is a combination of EN 388
and EN 407. Specifically for welding and Type
A refer to gloves that provide higher protection
from the heat. Type B refer to gloves that provide
lower protection against heat but are more
flexible and pliable.
