The duties and tasks contained in
the OTG are the same as in the
Training Record Book, however,
these are classified into Sea
Projects and Operational Tasks.
The former refers to duties and
tasks that can be performed by the
cadets on their own time without
interfering
with
the
ship's
operations and are required to be
100% completed during their
onboard training. On the other
hand, the operational tasks are
those in which performance is
dependent
on
actual
ship
operation or in accordance with
the ship’s Planned Maintenance
System.

In cases where the operational
tasks
are
not
completely
performed
during
students’
onboard training as determined
during the verification process
(Section 5) or if the result of the
assessment (Section 6) indicates
that
the
student
cannot
demonstrate
the
mandatory
competences in the STCW Code,
the
MHEI
shall
institute
appropriate Remediation Program
(simulation/workshops
practical
exercises) in order for students to
rectify such deficiency/ies, in
accordance with the process
specified in Section 7 of the
Revised OBT Guidelines;
