Housing Initiatives
The Educational Area Grant Program is a special initiative whereby
the Sigma Kappa Foundation and local house corporations work
together to establish funds for housing grants for purely
educational spaces.
The charitable purpose of the program is to improve educational
facilities available at eligible chapters and relieve the college
or university of some of the burden of providing study and
library facilities.

CHAPTER EDUCATIONAL
AREA GRANTS
Theta Phi Chapter at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga - $21,003
This chapter was able to place a desk and chair in each bedroom,
offset internet costs in the chapter house and use the grant to furnish
their study room.
Upsilon Chapter at Oregon State University - $40,000
This grant helped underwrite educational space in their recent
chapter house renovation.

SIGMA KAPPA NATIONAL
HOUSING CONFERENCE
The biennial Sigma Kappa National Housing Conference
provides training to housing volunteers, personal and
professional development, and shares current housing
trends. Housing volunteers and house directors met in
Raleigh, N.C. June 16-18, 2023. Funding is provided
by the Barbara Williams Fenters Leadership
Education Fund.
