SERVICE IMMERSION TRIP
TO THE
MAINE SEACOAST MISSION
The inaugural service immersion trip allowed fifteen members (13 selected participants
and two staff members) to travel to the Maine Seacoast Mission, June 11-17, 2023.
Members volunteered and made a positive impact in several areas including:
housing improvement, food security, family and community engagement
and island outreach programs.
Program funding came from donors to the Shared Hearts. New Heights.
A Campaign for Sigma Kappa.
The second Service Immersion trip, June 2-8, 2024, will be featured in next year’s
Impact Statement.
The MSCM has profoundly impacted my life and time in
Sigma Kappa and I have been immensely grateful for this
opportunity. Since returning from the trip, my chapter
planned and executed a successful blanket making event
to benefit the MSCM. My mother, admired everything
Sigma Kappa has done for me and has since become an
alumnae initiate. I love to talk to others about this
experience and emphasize the impact and importance
Sigma Kappa holds in our college years and beyond.
