the Centre for Environmental Law and
Community Rights (CELCOR) in Papua
New Guinea (PNG) and its key
Australian ally, the Environmental
Defenders Office (EDO), to employ
ocean kinship framing in
precedent-setting cases across the
Bismarck and Solomon Seas.
Work to elevate Pasifika Identity in
support of guardianship established
the Pasifika Regional Voyagers
Network, enabling place-anchored
voyaging communities across the
whole of Pasifika. The North Pacific
Indigenous Ways Education Pilot
Project expanded Indigenous learning
centers in Pohnpei and Kosrae. In PNG
and Solomon Islands, Legal Guardians
work elevating customary sovereignty
is underway. Lastly, in Oro Province,
PNG, CELCOR is collaborating with
the Save the Sepik Campaign and the
Oro Provincial Government to combat
illegal logging, protecting more than
600,000 hectares of thriving and
biodiverse customary forests for
future generations.
