Partnering with our clients
Providing opportunities for law students from underrepresented
social backgrounds is one way we can engage with our clients whilst
improving diversity in the legal profession and achieving our goal
of being one of the leading firms in DEI. We’re cooperating with
Google’s EMEA Legal Summer Institute to offer paid internships
in our Hamburg office in combination with a week of knowledge
sessions at the tech giant’s campus. We have collaborated with
key clients on a number of diversity initiatives and partnered with
them on open days and work experience programmes as part of
our Graduate Recruitment activities in the UK. These have included
Pathways Plus and Ladder to Law, our key ethnic minority and
social mobility initiatives, and the Goldman Sachs Pride Academy
for LGBTQ+ students.
Over the course of 2023, we hosted a number of events with and for
our clients to share knowledge and build relationships.
More awareness and visibility for people with disability is the theme
of the art exhibition “Art and Disability” at Hogan Lovells Paris.
We hosted Lilian Pitault from Association Gedeas, an organization
dedicated to the professional integration of disabled workers, for a
vernissage reception for clients and a sneak peek with lunch for all
Hogan Lovells people for this unique exhibition, supporting more
openness and discussion of disability in society.
Rainbow families (families with at
least one LGBT*IQ parent) face legal
uncertainties and social hurdles
unknown to traditional families.
The recurring discussion of a desire
to have children and of what is
“normal” family life often occurs in
the workplace. Rainbow families
have not yet been recognised by all employers, as can be seen in the
way parental leave is handled. We invited clients to discuss this topic
and how employers can better support rainbow families with several
rainbow parents, legal experts and a national LGBTQ+ NGO.
