Cured, our favourite continental deli, is in the Orange Arcade, 142
Summer St. or from the Woolworths car park. Stefan makes his own
products from local ingredients. His charcuteries platters, European
sausages, smoked meats and pates are renowned and blend perfectly
with local wine.
The Lane Cellars, an independent bottle shop. Next to Cured in the
Orange Arcade. Carries selection of premium local wine and beers as
many other Australian wines and craft beers.
Shopping all round central Orange, roughly bounded by Sale, Byng,
Peisley and Kite streets. Browse boutiques. The White Place, Hawkes
General Store, Frockwork (pre-loved clothing), Cint, Danielle Louise,
Mary and Tex, Chaos and Karma and many more. Dirty Janes is a
complex of many shops selling all sorts of goodies next to The White
Place in Byng St. Coffee addicts refuel yourself at any of the numerous
coffee shops as you explore.
Orange is a very liveable country town. We have galleries, specialist
shops, music, churches, theatre, too many available activities for us to
list. Golfing, cycling, lawn bowls, various gyms can all be checked out on
the internet. If there is something you would like to do, just ask at the
Visitor Centre if it is available.
Outside the CBD many enterprises are flourishing but visitors need
transport unless you book a tour. There are restaurants, a gin producer
called Parrot almost in town, the Agrestic Grocer, Small Acres Cyder,
Borenore Caves , Charles Sturt Uni., orchards, Gaanha Bula Mount
Canobolas and beautiful Lake Canobolas. Cycling, fishing, rock
climbing, check at the Visitors Center or on line.
