The study of neurological disease is one of the leading areas of medical
research. With the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease rising rapidly across
the world, there are intensive efforts to find effective therapies and develop
accurate diagnostic tests that can detect the condition as early as possible.
A key marker of Alzheimer’s disease is the beta-amyloid protein. Immuquest
is pleased to offer an excellent antibody for detecting beta-amyloid in tissue
sections (including in paraffin sections). A less well-known marker of interest
in Alzheimer’s disease is the Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), which
has attracted interest from researchers working on neuroprotective therapies.
Our GLP-1Rspecific antibody is directly relevant to these studies. Amongst
our other neurology-related antibodies, our reagent for detecting Gemin-1
is essential in studying the inherited condition of Spinal Muscular Atrophy
(SMA), one of the most frequent causes of infant mortality.
