Ascot Racecourse
Ascot Racecourse was founded in 1711 by Queen Anne. It is most famous for the
Royal Ascot ‘Gold Cup’ horse race. Every year Royal Ascot is attended by Elizabeth
II and other members of the British Royal Family such as The Prince of Wales. It is
a major event in the British social calendar, and press coverage of the attendees
and what they are wearing often exceeds coverage of the actual racing.
Chessington World of Adventures
Chessington is a hugely popular theme park, zoo and hotel complex. The zoo has
over 1,000 animals, including western lowland gorillas, sea lions, and Sumatran
tigers. It is split up into several themed areas, including a Sea Life Centre. There
are over 40 rides and attractions, with live shows and events and two resort hotels
located on the premises.
Shopping Centres
Shopping is well catered for with a number of shopping centres close to each site,
which have a good mixture of familiar High Street chains and more select
boutiques, as well as a number of cinemas and restaurants.
Transport
Frimley, Ascot and Slough railway stations provide easy and Central London. All
sites are close to main roads and motorways connecting residents to London and
the rest of the UK.
