Kovach said he didn’t have the energy tocontend with the mudslinging and politicalmaneuvering he felt would be coming in thenext race for his District 4 School Board seat.Prior to Kovach’s decision not to run again,former Sarasota Republican Party chair EricRobinson announced that he was consideringrunning for School Board. Mr. Robinson servedas the Chair, Treasurer and Registered Agentfor “Citizens Against Taxation PoliticalCommittee”, the PAC which supported Mrs.Zeigler. Today, Eric Robinson is listed astreasurer of at least 92 political committeesregistered with the state of Florida. Forty-fiveof these committees are currently active. Alltold, Mr. Robinson has managed over $22million flowing through these committees.Ultimately, Mr. Robinson decided to run for theDistrict 4 School Board seat. Two othercandidates filed to run as well, a Democrat anda Republican, but both withdrew from the race.
