We recently took delivery of our Tara Table from
iM3 and I am happy to share our impressions of and
experiences with it.

Overall, we are extremely impressed with the
Tara, and give it an 11/10
Pros: thoughtful design, impeccably engineered with high grade
materials resulting in an ergonomically superior dental / surgical
table package which is extremely user-friendly and built for
purpose.
Cons: Have not come across any negatives to date. Except I do
regret not including the optional in-table patient warmer- that
would have taken care of yet one more pre-operative preparation
task, that of placing the ventral patient warming blanket.
We are exceedingly happy with it. You have a great product and
the most finely-tuned Vet dentistry / surgery table that I have
come across.

Having been in the profession for nearly 4 decades with
designing and building many a clinic and hospital along
the way. I have used just about every brand of surgery table
available in the southern hemisphere. Here are our thoughts:
Delivery: once ordered it was delivered next day, and for an interstate
freight that was a quite impressive. The packing was ingenious,
professionally hard packed with padding in all the right spots so that it
arrived safe and sound without a scratch or dent.
Set-up: very easy to unpack and set up. In 30 mins the nurse and I had it
all installed and connected the IM3 deluxe dental unit and scaler and ready
to use.
Engineering: The stainless quality is excellent, this is not a cheap clone,
the Tara is made with high grade stainless. This is imperative for our
profession as this table will be used for decades to come and it must
withstand the rigours of surgical and dental use for the long haul and it
certainly looks to be well up to that challenge. Furthermore the stainless
welding is of extremely high quality and precision, you can just see it on
every join and every fixture, impeccably engineered and built.
Design & Ergonomics: There must have been considerable thought
(and experience) involved in the designing of this table and we find it just
brilliant and easy to use. It’s features tick all the boxes:

Raise and lower table height to suit the different statured staff and
patient. I often adjust this during a procedure and there is no need to
manually undo any locking mechanisms, all via a simple foot switch
which makes it quick, easy and safe.
Centre strut allows us to sit with our knees under the table during
dentistry for the best operator ergonomics.
Table tilt so we can slope the patient downwards to drain any
oral fluids during dentistry, and also tilting is often useful during
abdominal surgery providing an improved visual field for laparotomy.
Central removal drainage channel for fluid-rich surgeries or
unexpected voiding.
V shaped adjustable table top, brilliant for tailored patient positioning
and all the touch of a foot switch.
Dental extension, allows us to conduct fluid-rich dental procedures
without changing absorbent pads or having fluid leakage. Like most
of our profession, we are used to performing dentistry on static
dental tables and whilst most of these have fluid drainage, most
have a fixed working height and have a square bulky work platform
making operator access and comfort less than ideal. The rounded
slim-line shape of the removable dental extension allows for far easier
ergonomic access when working around the mouth which facilitates
more efficient and less frustrating access to the oral field. Furthermore,
the dental extension as well as being removable in itself, is both
extendable and height adjustable giving even more customisation
options for positioning of the oral cavity (esp large dogs) to achieve the
best ergonomically suitable position for the surgeon which we all know
reduces fatigue in those long dentistry procedures.
The ability/option to have the dental unit and an instrument tray
attached to the table via articulated swing-arms that move up and
down with the table height has been a major bonus for us as we have
a small surgery which is extremely space challenged. This design
gets ALL the cords and airlines off the floor so that there is nothing to
trip over. We just switch the compressor on and begin, setting up for
dentistry has never been so easy.
Having all controls for the table via a CORDLESS foot switch panel
(no wires to trip over) is simply brilliant.
Having the whole table on wheels is another boon both for
positioning of the table for those unusual surgeries, and also for
cleaning/ maintaining the hygiene of the theatre. In this day and age
of OHS liability, this feature reduces the lifting hassle and OHS risk of
moving heavy surgery tables for cleaning underneath. We have an
added appreciation for the table on wheels, when the table is not
being used we roll the end of it under a bench thus increasing our
work area in our space-confined treatment room.
