Takum
תקום
We are well aware that the Torah’s general viewpoint is that struggles are
part of life, and failing at times is part of struggling. We are taught that
Sheva Yipol Tzadik Vkam- the righteous fall many times but the ultimate
goal is to get up after each fall, dust ourselves off, and continue our growth.
In a profoundly deep teaching Rav Yitzchak Meir Morganstern connects a
verse from Tehillim to this idea. The passuk says “Rabos Machashavos
B’lev Ish, Viatzas Hashem He Takum” read literally it means “There are
many thoughts in mans heart, but the everlasting ideas are those that
belong to Hashem.”
Rav Morganstern sees another hidden message in the verse.
struggling, failing and inevitably falling down,
While
man thinks many
different things, including discouraging thoughts of despair and giving upbut an everlasting, enduring, and most powerful voice from Hashem is
always calling out to us “Get UP and return to me my beloved children”
