2020 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

2020 PRESIDENT'S AWARD
SOCRA presents a special recognition award annually to an
individual who has given exceptional service to the society. The
recipient of the 2020 President’s Award for outstanding service
was Joanne Goldberg, MSC, pht, GCBA, CCRP. SOCRA presents
a special recognition award annually to an individual who has
given exceptional service to the society.
Joanne Goldberg exemplifies outstanding service as an active
member of SOCRA's faculty. She has presented at 25+ SOCRA
conferences and workshops and has been a co-chair and copresenter for the SOP workshop since 2006. Joanne has also
been involved with the SOCRA Annual Conference. She has
been a speaker (2004-2012) and also a reviewer and moderator
for the Poster Program Special Award Competition (since 2013).
Joanne has been a SOCRA member since 2002 and rose
through the organization, serving as President in 2008.

2020 President's Award Recipient
Joanne is the Assistant Director of the Canadian
Institutes of Health Research’s Institute of Aging in
Montreal, Canada. She holds a Master of Science
degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University
of Montréal as well as a Bachelor of Science
degree in Physical Therapy from the same
institution. She has been involved in clinical
research for the past 18 years and has held many
positions including Associate Director of Scientific
Affairs, Director of Training, Director for Clinical
Site Network Management, Director of Quality
Management Systems, Senior Project Manager,
Senior Study Coordinator, as well as Investigator.
2020 POSTER PROGRAM SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
2020 CHAPTER SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
This program recognizes excellence for activities involved in
clinical research in the two categories of Clinical Trials and
Clinical Research Management. Posters are evaluated by a
group of experts in clinical research. Recipients demonstrate
ability to present their work during the Annual Conference
poster program. The special recognition awards for 2020 were
presented by John Petrich, MS, RPh virtually.
SOCRA annually recognizes the chapter
chairperson from the chapter granting the
greatest amount of learning opportunity (SOCRA
approved Continuing Education hours) to clinical
research professionals.
CLINICAL RESEARCH MANAGEMENT CATEGORY
Wendy Lloyd, BA, LPN, CCRP, accepted the 2020
Chapter Special Recognition Award on behalf of
the SOCRA Greater Nashville Chapter.
