EndemicFlora and Fauna
Our cabins are located in the mountains and surrounded by a state park and national forest. As such it is
important to understand with that comes mother nature and her loving family of flora and fauna including
snakes, lizards, deer, bears, raccoons, spiders, ladybugs, wasps, bees, rabbits, poison ivy/oak, chiggers,
beetles, field mice, squirrels, opossums, flies, walking sticks, coyotes, moths, and butterflies, just to name a
few.
As much as we clean, these critters will find a way to join us. Each cabin is on a strict pest control regime to
ensure your safety, however, endemic wildlife is sure to be around. Please keep doors and windows closed
as much as possible to reduce the risk of critters entering the cabin.
POLLEN
Marking the arrival of Oklahoma's "Tree Season" is the appearance of pollen. Pollen can appear in
staggering numbers, wreaking havoc for a large number of allergy sufferers. When the usual cold winter
subsides and the wind blows from the south, the pollen from the south, the pollen counters are high. Pollen
can arrive as early as December and can stretch into April. During pollen season, maintenance will blow and
sweep the outside of our cabins before guests arrive. However, a layer of pollen will return within the hour.
Please bear with us, we feel the pain too!
POISON IVY/OAK/SUMAC
Poison Ivy is prevalent in the area and can be naturally found around your
cabin. Please exercise caution when kids and pets are playing in the area.
