Splitting large/complex projects
Whereas the third principle (see 5.1.1.10) limits one person for ultimate control, this British
Standard accepts flexibility for particularly technically or logistically complex projects. It would be
unrealistic to give individual responsibility for knowing all that was going on to one person for a
major project.
A project or site can be split into more than one well-defined area and a PC9s TWC be appointed for
each area, e.g. a length of motorway or railway [see Figure 2e)]. Each individual PC9s TWC should
